The generosity of the membership of local 2222 never ceases to amaze.  We once again held our annual Thanksgiving drive to benefit The New England Home For Little Wanderers and the families they serve.

Through your kindness, we collected and distributed well over $6,000 worth of food and money.  Through your kind donations we were able to make this Thanksgiving Holiday a bit brighter for the neediest of our community.  Thank You!

Former Local 2222 member and steward Patty Harding needs our help.  Her granddaughter Reese, pictured at left, has been treated for Neuroblastoma and she has no evidence of disease at this time.

As you may know we're launching 'Comics for a Cure' in Boston, January 9, 2009 to support the neuroblastoma pediatric cancer community nationwide by celebrating with an exclusive line up of headlining comedians here in Boston at the Cutler Majestic Theater.  All proceeds will benefit the Children's Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation which funds research, clinical trials, and provides awareness, education and support for families affected by this nightmare.

Overall, tickets for the show are $55 general admission, $100 VIP/ orchestra, and there is a $40 student discount price (2 tickets at discount max) that can be purchased with ID at the theater's box office.

Thank you for all of your support.

The nation's voters may have cast their ballots overwhelmingly for change Nov. 4, but the Bush administration's drive to weaken worker safety laws and reward its corporate friends is far from dead.

In November, we reported on the Bush administration's last-minute assault on the public with a slew of end-of-term, no congressional-approval-needed regulations that could roll back or weaken rules on job safety, family leave, airline safety and pollution.

Today, such figures will be joined by Senator Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts, as he receives an honorary degree at a special Harvard convocation.
