Police estimated that well over 6000 Verizon workers rallied to demand a fair contract.  We know Verizon is feeling the heat right now.

The energy at this rally was inspiring.  We are fighting for health care, we are fighting to ensure that every job is a union job.  If Ivan Seidenberg can get 28 million per year, and health car for life, this company can afford to sign a fair contract for all Verizon workers.

Verizon is just one of many companies attempting to pressure its employees to pay more for the cost of their health insurance.  But shifting premium costs to employees is not a solution.  It won't hold down skyrocketing health care costs or improve the quality of care.  It only lets employers avoid their responsibility to work for real solutions.
